Make a bequest to The Pyjama Foundation

Thank you for considering The Pyjama Foundation in your will. Your bequest to The Pyjama Foundation will help to transform children’s lives through literacy. If you wish to leave a bequest, we strongly recommend you consult with your legal adviser but offer the following wording as a guide.

"I bequeath to The Pyjama Foundation for general purposes (a specified sum, or specified items, or the residue of my estate), free of all duties. The receipt of the Directors or other authorised officer shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s).”

Other options you may wish to consider are:

• To leave a percentage of your estate
  Your bequest will change with the size of your estate, taking inflation into account and ensuring that your gift never becomes disproportionate to other parts of your will.
  “I give and bequeath to The Pyjama Foundation, a company limited by guarantee, of 7 Hudson Road Albion, Queensland, Australia, (the desired percentage)% of my Estate, free of all duties, to be used for its general purposes. The receipt of the Directors or other authorised officer shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s).”

• To leave the residue of your estate
  “I give and bequeath to The Pyjama Foundation, a company limited by guarantee, of 7 Hudson Road Albion, Queensland, Australia, the residue of my Estate, free of all duties, to be used for its general purposes. The receipt of the Directors or other authorised officer shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s).”
  After meeting all your personal commitments, you can choose to leave The Pyjama Foundation the balance of your estate.

• To leave a specific sum
  You can specify the amount you wish to donate to The Pyjama Foundation. As this does not allow for changes in your estate, you should review your will regularly.
  “I give and bequeath to The Pyjama Foundation, a company limited by guarantee, of 7 Hudson Road Albion, Queensland, Australia, the sum of $(amount), free of all duties, to be used for its general purposes. The receipt of the Directors or other authorised officer shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s).”
